Got quiet at the desk, so I tried again around 7:30 pm. This time no questions, just a lot of quiet studying/researching/writing going on. Some effort to slow down and ignore feeling self-conscious about the low plastic sound of my cart's wheels. The library si much quieter than this time in previous semesters, IMHO a good thing.
Saw a few students working with the bones.

Blog Revived
We had individual SharePoint sites and blogs turned on at work last week. I've been blogging behind out firewall and realized that some of this may be of interest to the wider world and is not confidential. So I've returned to blogging after a long absence. Copy/paste is a good thing.
Rambling Rover 9/8/09
First night of the experiment. Took the laptop on the cheap little rolling stand from CVS and rambled around the library with it for about 15 minutes at 7:35. The idea is to drum up some reference business without blatantly interrupting anyone’s studying. I got one question – “where do I get the book my professor put in the library for us?” – reserve – and a few smiles. Felt a little self-conscious and made a point of walking slowly and retracing part of my route. The little cart rolls easily and reasonably quietly, and is sufficiently maneuverable to get around chairs, packs, recycle bins, etc. I’ll try it again next week.
